The pianist Tatiana Stupak's annual birthday charity concerts in Limassol have become increasingly popular in the last few years. Last year, 800 people attended her variety concert at the Kourion Ancient Amphitheatre. The concert revealed her remarkable skills as an event organiser. Also in 2018, she won the award as Russian Cultural Woman of the Year in Cyprus, and was selected for the Top Ladies Cyprus gala in April this year. She also took part in a live TV show for charity in 2018. She is a winner of international piano and organ competitions.
This year, on Thursday 13th June, her concert will be at Limassol's Municipal Gardens Open Air Theatre, with the co-operation of the Limassol Municipality. It will be in support of the breast cancer charity Europa Donna. The presenter for the evening will be Julia Vertova from Russian Wave Radio.
Variety will again be a feature of the concert. There will not only be popular classical music, but also 20th century classic pop songs, and dancers accompanying some of the music.
Tatiana Stupak will play two piano solo works: Prokofiev's 'Mercutio' and Chopin's Ballade No.1 and will also accompany singers and instrumentalists.
The concert will open with a short performance by ballet dancers from Vania Vrondi's Russian Professional Art School.
Four of the best students from the Tatiana Stupak School of Music will then play some classical and jazz music on piano and violin.
Violinist Olivera Rialas from Belgrade, will play the well-known Salut d'Amour by Elgar, and 'Czardas', accompanied by Stupak, and gymnasts from Onisillos Rhythmic Gymnastics, Limassol.
The international soprano Ester Ustaeva will sing Dvořák's much loved 'Song to the Moon', and Alexander Alyabieff's beautiful song The Nightingale.
Roy Orbison's 1962 pop song 'Crying,' adapted to classical music form, will be sung by the mezzo-soprano Anastasia Maximova. Two intensely rhythmic works by Astor Piazzolla will also be performed by Maximova, accompanied by tango dancers from Limassol's OLGA-Dance Academy. One of these pieces will be 'Oblivion', and Anastasia Bulaeva (oboe), will accompany the singer. Bulaeva will also play Ennio Morricone's beautiful and popular work 'Gabriel's Oboe'.
Cyprus resident Alexander Lebedev will sing some classic 20th century songs, such as those made popular by Frank Sinatra, and Kristina Kiseleva will sing the dancing song 'Sway', originally made famous by Dean Martin.
Tatiana Kokoreva, visiting soprano from Moscow, will sing Time to Say Goodbye, made famous by Andrea Bocelli.
The concert will end with the Flower Duet from Delibes' opera Lakmé, and then Rossini's famous and amusing 'Cat Duet', sung by Kokoreva and Maximova.
Composers will be Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Delibes, Dvořák, Elgar, Piazzolla, Prokofiev, Rossini, Sibelius and others.
